TOCA is a studio that specializes in architecture and interior design, dedicated to creating spaces that embody authenticity, colour, and elegance. Our team collaborates closely with contractors, upholsterers, carpenters, and artists to ensure that the final product achieves the perfect balance between creativity and precision, reflecting both aesthetic beauty and functional excellence.

Each project begins with meticulous planning, which includes a comprehensive technical and architectural study of the space, as well as the selection of natural materials, coverings, furniture, modern art, and decorative objects.

At TOCA, we believe that no two projects are alike and that interior environments should reflect the personalities of those who inhabit them. That’s why we engage with our clients throughout the process to understand their tastes and objectives, allowing us to design elegant, functional, and harmonious spaces.

Marta Cardoso Alves

Marta was born and raised in Lisbon, graduated in Architecture and specialised in Interior Architecture and Building Rehabilitation from the Faculty of Architecture of Lisbon and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville.

After gaining eight years of experience in the most prestigious interior architecture studios in Portugal, she founded TOCA together with António with a clear purpose: to take on each project as a unique and unrepeatable journey, in which architecture and design are thought not only for the eye but also for the mind.

She designs refuges, transforms spaces and builds customised atmospheres where form and function coexist, ensuring neither takes precedence over the other, in the ultimate search for harmony between what is visible and what is experienced – to nurture and inspire a sense of belonging. Each externalised environment should celebrate the inner life that unfolds within it, which is why Marta doesn’t follow styles or trends: she creates from scratch, blending colours, textures and natural materials.
